With a cost of more than 263 billion VND, fully sponsored by Sun Group, the project was completed right before the Lunar New Year in a record time of more than 90 days and nights without stopping.
Park No. 1 Ly Thai To creates a “green silence” in the heart of the mega-city of Ho Chi Minh City
More than 90 days and nights of speedy construction gave Ho Chi Minh City a new symbol
The park was inaugurated on the evening of February 12 in the context of extremely urgent progress, in order to be in time to serve the people during the Lunar New Year – the moment when Vietnamese people turn to their roots, express gratitude and commemorate. The construction site operates according to a model of 3 shifts of 4 continuous crews; At peak, there were more than 500 engineers and workers working day and night.
In the near-Tet conditions, it is not easy to mobilize human resources and equipment, so the contractor still maintains a continuous construction density. Three stone processing factories operate for 40 days to exploit more than 2,500 m³ of raw stone, creating 1,350 m³ of finished products for construction on an area of more than 23,000 m².
The implementation team also has to race every day to collect enough sources of high-quality Indian granite 30 mm thick – a rare material in the market where 20 mm thickness is popular. At the same time, 25 artisans of Non Nuoc – Ngu Hanh Son stone village and 30 machine operators work continuously in 3 shifts for 30 days, to craft sophisticated stone details, ensuring traditional craft values and high aesthetic quality.

Meaningful quotes are placed inside the campus of Park No. 1 Ly Thai To
Bringing the project to the finish line in more than 90 days not only demonstrates the construction organization capacity and great determination of Ho Chi Minh City and Sun Group, but is also a grateful effort: So that people have a space to be grateful at the end of the year and enter the new spring with faith and bright hope ahead.

The focal point of the park is the square where the Water Drop Monument is made of mirror stainless steel
The focal point of the park is the “Water Drop” Monument, 6m high, 13m circumference, located in the middle of a 1,800m² circular square. The image of a water drop when it hits the ground creates a concave space like a “memory hole”, reminding the losses the city has experienced during the pandemic. From that center, the spreading rings expand around, symbolizing the revitalizing power of a city of gratitude – where pain is transformed into love, solidarity and the desire to rise.
Inside the drop of water is an image of a heart – a symbol of affection and gratitude. The mirrored stainless steel surface reflects the silhouettes of people standing around, as a message that the memory is a shared memory. The city has gone through challenges together, and it is the consensus that has created the energy to continue moving forward.

The heart-shaped Water Drop Monument has many symbolic meanings
The entire park is planned to be multi-functional, preserving the existing greenery and renovating old buildings into exhibition spaces, libraries, and cultural and artistic activities. On the occasion of inauguration, the campus of more than 4 hectares was organized into a spring flower festival with tens of thousands of trees and flower pots, becoming a new destination for people in the first days of the Year of the Horse.
Evaluating the project, Dr. Tran Hoang Ngan – Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegate – commented that this is not just a new park, but “a place where everyone wants to immerse themselves in to reflect on life and find new sources of energy”. According to him, it is very rare for any public project to receive such widespread consensus and sympathy from the community when announced.
He said that converting a prime piece of land in the center into a park instead of commercial exploitation has many meanings: “The land can be used for many different purposes. But when choosing to make a park – a symbolic project recognizing the people’s cooperation and consensus to overcome the pandemic – it is a decision that pleases the people.”

The park creates many green spaces for the people of Ho Chi Minh City
From the Tam Thang tower to the “water drop” monument – humanistic symbols that create the urban appearance
In front of Ly Thai To Park No. 1, Tam Thang Tower in Vung Tau is also a meaningful social project that Sun Group dedicated to Ho Chi Minh City, with a total investment of 155 billion VND, completed after only 75 days and nights.
The tower consists of 143 pillars ranging from 4.55m to more than 34.25m high, arranged gradually towards the sea, inspired by the image of three powerful boats reaching out to sea, recreating the story of three villages Thang Nhat, Thang Nhi, Thang Tam associated with the mission of protecting the sea and islands since the reign of King Gia Long. Tam Thang Square is designed as a multi-purpose community space in the Back Beach area, with 3.6m high Vong Canh Cape opening up a panoramic view of the coastal city.

Tam Thang Tower and “Water Drop” Monument are humanistic symbols that create the urban appearance of Ho Chi Minh City.
The meeting point between Tam Thang Tower and the “Water Drop” Monument is the thinking of creating central symbols for each space. One building rises above the sea and sky, the other sinks deep into the heart of the city – but both share the same value: conveying history, memories and the desire for development.
Sun Group representative said: In the journey towards a modern and richly identified megacity, Ho Chi Minh City chooses to put people and quality of life as the focus. Ly Thai To Park No. 1 is therefore not only a landscape project, but also a testament to the companionship between the government and private enterprises in creating sustainable social values. For Sun Group, this is a gift of gratitude to the city named after Uncle Ho, and a commitment to the development of the community, wherever the Group sets foot.
